WWE Friday Night SmackDown Report – February 26th, 2010
Report by Richard Trionfo, PWInsider

We begin tonight’s show with a look back at the Smackdown brand Elimination Chamber match for the World Title featuring Shawn Michaels coming from under the chamber to give Undertaker Sweet Chin Music to allow Chris Jericho to get the win.

We are live on tape from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and your announcers are Todd ‘My Favroite Viking’ Grisham and Matt ‘My Mommy Got me a Thesaurus for my birthday’ Striker.

Just like on Monday night, Chris Jericho comes out to address the crowd. We even get to see some of the footage from Monday night when Jericho gloated about his title win at Elimination Chamber only to be speared by Edge and told that Chris Jericho would in fact be his opponent.

Jericho reminds us that he is the World Champion. He says that after fifteen months of clawing and scraping his way, he is back where he belongs. He is in the ring with the title belt in his hands. He wants the camera man to zoomit so we can see the name plate on the belt. Chris says that Monday was supposed to be his inauguration ball and his chance for the failures in the crowd to bask in his success. It was a way to glorify his achievements and get the respect he deserves from the fans. Chris points out that it didn’t happen because of Edge. Jericho says that he did not deserve it and then he says it a few more times until . . .

Edge’s music plays and he comes to the ring. Edge gets a mic and after soaking in the chants of his name, he tells Chris that as much as he hates to do it, he has to congratulate Chris. Edge points out that Chris walked into the Elimination Chamber and then walked out as the champion. Jericho says he did it because he is the best in the world at what he does. Edge says that Jericho is the best in the world at getting speared by him. Edge points out Jericho beat Steve Austin and the Rock in one night . . . spear. He defeated Shawn Michaels in his own match . . . spear. He beat 3 WWE Hall of Famers in one match at Wrestlemania last year . . . spear spear. He beat the Undertaker twice . . . spear spear spear. He walked into the Elimination Chamber and walked out as the World Champion . . . spear spear spear spear spear spear spear spear spear spear (I might have missed five or six). Edge tells Chris that he has a feeling that those spears aren’t getting to him physically . . . Edge stops as the crowd starts to chant ‘spear’. He says that the spears are getting to him mentally. He sees doubt in the world beater’s eyes. He says that Jericho can’t look at him. He wonders if Jericho doesn’t think he can beat him.

Jericho says that he can beat Edge. Edge says that he sees doubt in his eyes. Edge says that the last thing that Jericho probably sees at night is his face. He says that when Jericho goes to get coffee in the morning, he sees Edge. He says that Chris is in his head all nightmare long. Edge says that he wants Chris at his best at Wrestlemania. He wants Jericho to stand up to his claim that he is the best in the world at what he does. If Chris has any of that doubt at Wrestlemania . . . the crowd chants ‘spear’ and Edge says that they guessed it. It will be one more spear and it is all over.

Jericho tells Edge that he will never spear him again. Jericho punches Edge with the mic and he waits for the Codebreaker but Edge holds on to the ropes and Jericho is proven to be a liar because Edge just speared him.
