According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Eisner and his Tornante Co. have hired Mark Hammer to write the big screen adaptation of Bazooka Joe. Bazooka Joe, the gum and the comic have been a long time part of the “Topps” stable, which Michael Eisner bought in 2007 for $380 million. Part of the deal was to rejuvenate Bazooka Joe.

Bazooka Joe has been around since the 1950s, featuring the misadventures of young Joe (who wears an eye patch) and his friends Pesty, Mort, Toughie, Hungry Herman, his love Jane and dog named Walkie Talkie.
