According to Variety, Matthew Sand (The Red Star and Ninja Assassin) is being brought in to rewrite the script for the Denzel Washington project Brothers in Arms. Brothers in Arms was a World War II book written by former basketball great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and is about the only black U.S. tank unit to see combat in Europe during World War II. The story will follow the story of the unit that battled prejudice to prove themselves on the battlefield as they spearheaded the Allied Forces’ drive eastward toward Germany during the Battle of the Bulge.
