The IMAX Corporation has announced that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: The IMAX Experience made $14.4 million off of 169 IMAX screens from Wednesday June 24th through Sunday June 28th. That’s an average of $85,000 a screen. Internationally the film made $3.9 million on 60 screens since June 19th. The worldwide total for the film, in IMAX, is up to $18.3 million. The IMAX releases set records internationally for the biggest IMAX opening in international markets including China, Australia, and France.

IMAX CEO Richard L. Gelfond had the following to say about the film’s IMAX presentation…

“We’re very happy with the performance of the film across our growing network, and Paramount Pictures has once again delivered a blockbuster to IMAX theatres. These box office records are driven by the continued expansion of our network and the strong consumer appetite for The IMAX Experience(R) in new markets.”
