A photographer is suing Chris Brown, claiming this bodyguards assaulted him outside a gym while he was taking pictures of Brown.

The photographer, Robert Rosen, said he was snapping pictures of Brown and friends playing basketball. He’s suing both Brown and L.A. Fitness, the gym. Rosen says he was a gym member and that he was chased and beaten by Brown’s bodyguards. He also says he fell down a flight of stairs trying to get away. He’s claiming assault and battery, emotional distress and negligence. It’s unclear the amount he’s suing for, but he lists compensation for his injuries, medical expenses and loss of earnings, among other things.

“This is a specious and frivolous lawsuit by one of the paparazzi seeking publicity and a payday,” said Brown’s lawyer. “He’s done this before and lost. We will vigorously defend against this.”

The same photographer sued Pierce Brosnan two years ago.

Brown is due in court today in his assault trail against Rihanna.
