Chris Brown recently gave his first radio interview since the highly publicized domestic dispute he had with Rihanna last February during which he announced his plans to place more attention on having his music inspire people. Beyond talking about his new goal, Chris also talked about his recent appearance on the “Larry King Live” show.

“I was so scared and nervous to be on there,” Brown told New York Hot 97 radio personality Angie Martinez about being on “Larry King Live.” “I didn’t know what to do…I couldn’t really be myself and get people to understand who I was…I had to kinda say what I wanted to say but I had to kinda think about what I wanted to say because I was already being so criticized so much at that point…Even if I went on the Larry King interview and said everything that I wanted to hear, it would still not be good enough…That’s why I focus on my music. I’m dealing with what’s going on in my life, my personal life but I think my gift to the world is inspiring kids and inspiring people with my music from now on…I feel like the underdog — I had to prove myself in the beginning.”
